Text 1.1.59

ततो वानरराजेन वैरानुकथनं प्रति।
रामायावेदितं सर्वं प्रणयाद्दुःखितेन च॥

tato vānara-rājena vairānukathanaṁ prati
rāmāyāveditaṁ sarvaṁ praṇayād duḥkhitena ca

tataḥ = then; vānara-rājena = the king of monkeys Sugrīva; vaira anukathanam prati = about his enmity [with Vālī]; rāmāya = Rāma; āveditam = informed; sarvam = all; praṇayāt = out of his affection [for Rāma]; duḥkhitena = out of his distress; ca = and.

Then the king of monkeys Sugrīva informed Rāma all about his enmity [with Vālī] out of his affection [for Rāma] and out of his distress.

In the presence of the most well-wishing friend Rāmacandra, Sugrīva recollected the events [in his own life] in distress while shedding tears. Vairānukathanam indicates that Sugrīva replied to Lord Rāma’s questions about his hostility to Vālī. Sugrīva [also] revealed confidential details about the same to Rāma. Praṇayāt indicates that Sugrīva did so out of his affection for and confidence in Rāma [54]. He spoke everything to Rāma.
