Chapter 10: Ṛśyaśṛṅga Comes to Romapada’s kingdom
Text 1.10.13

अदृष्टरूपास्तास्तेन काम्यरूपा वने स्त्रियः।
हार्दात्तस्य मतिर्जाता ह्याख्यातुं पितरं स्वकम्॥

adṛṣṭa-rūpās tās tena kāmya-rūpā vane striyaḥ
hārdāt tasya matir jātā hy ākhyātuṁ pitaraṁ svakam

adṛṣṭa-rūpāḥ = had never been seen; tāḥ = those; tena = by him; kāmya-rūpāḥ = of desirable beauty; vane = in the forest; striyaḥ = ladies; hārdāt = so, out of affection born from his sight of them; tasya = he; matiḥ = the idea; jātā hi = got; ākhyātum = of describing; pitaram = father and so on; svakam = his.

Those ladies of desirable beauty had never been seen by him in the forest. So out of affection born from his sight of them, he got the idea of describing his father and so on.
