तदहं यष्टुमिच्छामि शास्त्रदृष्टेन कर्मणा।
ऋषिपुत्रप्रभावेन कामान्प्राप्स्यामि चाप्यहम्॥
tad ahaṁ yaṣṭum icchāmi śāstra-dṛṣṭena karmaṇā
ṛṣi-putra-prabhāvena kāmān prāpsyāmi cāpy aham
tat = to alleviate all obstructions and difficulties; aham = I; yaṣṭum = to be initiated; icchāmi = desire; śāstra-dṛṣṭena = into the scriptural; karmaṇā = procedures; ṛṣi-putra-prabhāvena = by the influence of the sacrifice conducted by Ṛśyaśṛṅga, the son of sage Vibhaṇḍaka; kāmān = my desires in the form of sons; prāpsyāmi ca api = will attain; aham = I.
To alleviate all obstructions and difficulties, I desire to be initiated into the scriptural procedures. By the influence of the sacrifice conducted by Ṛśyaśṛṅga, the son of sage Vibhaṇḍaka, I will attain my desires in the form of sons.
