Chapter 13: Daśaratha Goes to the Sacrificial Arena
Text 1.13.23

तथा काशीपतिं स्निग्धं सततं प्रियवादिनम्।
वयस्यं राजसिंहस्य स्वयमेवानयस्व ह॥

tathā kāśī-patiṁ snigdhaṁ satataṁ priya-vādinam
vayasyaṁ
rāja-siṁhasya svayam evānayasva ha

tathā = you should also; kāśī-patim = the king of Kāśī; snigdham = he is amiable; satatam = always; priya-vādinam = pleasant in speech; vayasyam = and a contemporary; rāja-siṁhasya = of the emperor; svayam eva = personally; anayasva ha = bring.

You should also personally bring the king of Kāśī. He is amiable, always pleasant in speech and a contemporary of the emperor.

The sage Vasiṣṭha describes the king of Kāśī to provide Sumantra reasons to personally go and bring him.
