Chapter 14: The Aśvamedha Sacrifice
Text 1.14.18
स्वलङ्कृताश्च पुरुषा ब्राह्मणान्पर्यवेषयन्।
उपासते च तानन्ये सुमृष्टमणिकुण्डलाः॥
svalaṅkṛtāś ca puruṣā brāhmaṇān paryaveṣayan
upāsate ca tān anye sumṛṣṭa-maṇi-kuṇḍalāḥ
svalaṅkṛtāḥ ca = nicely decorated; puruṣāḥ = persons; brāhmaṇān = the brāhmaṇas; paryaveṣayan = served; upāsate ca = assisted; tān = them; anye = others; sumṛṣṭa-maṇi-kuṇḍalāḥ = wearing earrings studded with polished gems.
Nicely decorated persons served the brāhmaṇas. Others wearing earrings studded with polished gems assisted them.
