Chapter 14: The Aśvamedha Sacrifice
Text 1.14.60
तथेति च स राजानमुवाच द्विजसत्तमः।
भविष्यन्ति सुता राजंश्चत्वारस्ते कुलोद्वहाः॥
tatheti ca sa rājānam uvāca dvija-sattamaḥ
bhaviṣyanti sutā rājaṁś catvāras te kulodvahāḥ
tathā iti ca = alright; saḥ = the; rājānam = the king; uvāca = then told; dvija-sattamaḥ = best of the twice-born; bhaviṣyanti = there will be; sutāḥ = sons; rājan = O king; catvāraḥ = four; te kula-udvahāḥ = to continue your dynasty.
The best of the twice-born then told the king, “Alright. There will be four sons, O king, to continue your dynasty.”
He indicated, “Yes, I will perform such a sacrifice.”
