Chapter 15: The Demigods Appeal to the Lord for Protection
Text 1.15.15
एतच्छ्रुत्वा प्रियं वाक्यं ब्रह्मणा समुदाहृतम्।
सर्वे महर्षयो देवा प्रहृष्टास्तेऽभवंस्तदा॥
etac chrutvā priyaṁ vākyaṁ brahmaṇā samudāhṛtam
sarve maha-rṣayo devā prahṛṣṭās te ’bhavaṁs tadā
etat = these; śrutvā = hearing; priyam = pleasing; vākyam = words; brahmaṇā = by Lord Brahmā; samudāhṛtam = uttered; sarve = all; maha-rṣayaḥ = great sages; devāḥ = and demigods; prahṛṣṭāḥ = delighted; te = the; abhavan tadā = became.
Hearing these pleasing words uttered by Lord Brahmā, all the great sages and demigods became delighted.
They were delighted that somehow or other there was a possibility of Rāvaṇa’s death.
