Chapter 16: Daśaratha Benedicted
Text 1.16.10
स कृत्वा निश्चयं विष्णुरामन्त्र्य च पितामहम्।
अन्तर्धानं गतो देवैः पूज्यमानो महर्षिभिः॥
sa kṛtvā niścayaṁ viṣṇur āmantrya ca pitāmaham
antardhānaṁ gato devaiḥ pūjyamāno maha-rṣibhiḥ
saḥ kṛtvā niścayaṁ = having concluded [that He will incarnate in the form of a human being]; viṣṇuḥ = Lord Viṣṇu; āmantrya = having told; ca = and; pitāmaham = Grandfather Brahmā that He will accomplish their request; antardhānam gataḥ = disappeared; devaiḥ = by the demigods; pūjyamānaḥ = while being worshipped; mahā-ṛṣibhiḥ = and the great sages.
Having concluded that He will incarnate in the form of a human being, and having told Grandfather Brahmā that He will accomplish their request, Lord Viṣṇu disappeared while being worshipped by the great sages.
