एवं पितामहात्तस्माद्वरं प्राप्य स दर्पितः।
उत्सादयति लोकांस्त्रीन्स्त्रियश्चाप्यवकर्षति।
तस्मात्तस्य वधो दृष्टो मानुषेभ्यः परन्तप॥
evaṁ pitāmahāt tasmād varaṁ prāpya sa darpitaḥ
utsādayati lokāṁs trīn striyaś cāpy avakarṣati
tasmāt tasya vadho dṛṣṭo mānuṣebhyaḥ parantapa
evam = thus obtained; pitāmahāt tasmāt = from Grandfather Brahmā; varam = a boon; prāpya = having; saḥ = he; darpitaḥ = has become proud; utsādayati = he torments; lokān = worlds; trīn = the three; striyaḥ = women; ca api = and even; avakarṣati = takes away; tasmāt = therefore; tasya = his; vadhaḥ = death; dṛṣṭaḥ = it is understood that; mānuṣebhyaḥ = will be from human beings; parantapa = O scorcher of the foes.
Having thus obtained a boon from Grandfather Brahmā, he has become proud. He torments the three worlds, and even takes away women. Therefore, O scorcher of the foes, it is understood that his death will be from human beings.
