Bāla-kāṇḍa
Chapter 18: The Advent of Rāma, Lakṣmaṇa, Bharata and Śatrughna
Text 1.18.17

जगुः कलं च गन्धर्वा ननृतुश्चाप्सरोगणाः।
देवदुन्दुभयो नेदुः पुष्पवृष्टिश्च खाच्च्युता॥

jaguḥ kalaṁ ca gandharvā nanṛtuś cāpsaro-gaṇāḥ
deva-dundubhayo
neduḥ puṣpa-vṛṣṭiś ca khāc cyutā

jaguḥ = sang; kalam ca = indistinctly and sweetly; gandharvāḥ = Gandharvas; nanṛtuḥ ca = danced; apsaraḥ-gaṇāḥ = Apsarās; deva-dundubhayaḥ = celestial dundubhi drums; neduḥ = were beaten; puṣpa-vṛṣṭiḥ ca = a shower of flowers and; khāt = from the sky; cyutā = fell.

Gandharvas sang indistinctly and sweetly. Apsarās danced. Celestial dundubhi drums were beaten and a shower of flowers fell from the sky.

There were signs of auspiciousness at the time of Their birth.
