स राज्ञः प्रतिगृह्यार्घ्यं शास्त्रदृष्टेन कर्मणा।
कुशलं चाव्ययं चैव पर्यपृच्छन्नराधिपम्॥
sa rājñaḥ pratigṛhyārghyaṁ śāstra-dṛṣṭena karmaṇā
kuśalaṁ cāvyayaṁ caiva paryapṛcchan narādhipam
saḥ = Viśvāmitra; rājñaḥ = the king’s; pratigṛhya = accepting; arghyam = arghya; śāstra-dṛṣṭena = in accordance with scripturally; karmaṇā = prescribed duties; kuśalam ca = welfare; avyayam ca eva = about his eternal; paryapṛcchat = asked; nara-adhipam = the king.
Accepting the king’s arghya in accordance with scriptural prescriptions, he asked the king about his eternal welfare.
