Chapter 19: Viśvāmitra Requests Daśaratha to Give Rāma
Text 1.19.3
यत्तु मे हृद्गतं वाक्यं तस्य कार्यस्य निश्चयम्।
कुरुष्व राजशार्दूल भव सत्यप्रतिश्रवः॥
yat tu me hṛd-gataṁ vākyaṁ tasya kāryasya niścayam
kuruṣva rāja-śārdūla bhava satya-pratiśravaḥ
yat tu = which; me = my; hṛt-gatam = is in heart; vākyam = and which I want to tell you; tasya = that; kāryasya = to do; niścayam kuruṣva = make up your mind; rāja-śārdūla = O tiger among kings; bhava = be; satya-pratiśravaḥ = truthful to your promise.
O tiger among kings, make up your mind to do that which is in my heart and which I want to tell you. Be truthful to your promise.
Viśvāmitra wanted to reveal what was in his mind and he wanted the king to carry it out.
