Chapter 20: Daśaratha Refuses to Give Rāma
Text 1.20.6
निर्विघ्ना व्रतचर्या सा भविष्यति सुरक्षिता।
अहं तत्र गमिष्यामि न रामं नेतुमर्हसि॥
nirvighnā vrata-caryā sā bhaviṣyati surakṣitā
ahaṁ tatra gamiṣyāmi na rāmaṁ netum arhasi
nirvighnā = unimpeded; vrata-caryā sā = your performance of vow; bhaviṣyati = will be; surakṣitā = and well protected; aham = I; tatra = there; gamiṣyāmi = will go; na = not; rāmam = Rāma; netum = you take; arhasi = should.
I will go there myself. Your performance of vow will be unimpeded and well protected. You should not take Rāma.
