Chapter 21: The Anger and Appeasal of Viśvāmitra
Text 1.21.11-12

एषोऽस्त्रान्विविधान्वेत्ति त्रैलोक्ये सचराचरे।
नैनमन्यः पुमान्वेत्ति न च वेत्स्यन्ति केचन॥

न देवा ऋषयः केचिन्नासुरा न च राक्षसाः।
गन्धर्वयक्षप्रवराः सकिन्नरमहोरगाः॥

eṣo ’strān vividhān vetti trailokye sacarācare
nainam
anyaḥ pumān vetti na ca vetsyanti kecana

na devā ṛṣayaḥ kecin nāsurā na ca rākṣasāḥ
gandharva-yakṣa-pravarāḥ
sakinnara-mahoragāḥ

eṣaḥ = this Viśvāmitra; astrān = weapons; vividhān = various; vetti = knows; trailokye = in the three worlds; sacara-acare = found among the animate and inanimate; na = no; enam = this much; anyaḥ = other; pumān = man; vetti = knows; na ca = nor; vetsyanti = will know this much; kecana = anyone; na devāḥ ṛṣayaḥ kecit = none of the devas, ṛṣis; na asurāḥ = none of the asuras; na ca rākṣasāḥ = none of the rākṣasas; gandharva-yakṣa-pravarāḥ = great gandharvas and yakṣas; sakinnara-maha-uragāḥ kinnaras or great snakes [know this much].

This Viśvāmitra knows various weapons found among the animate and inanimate in the three worlds. No other man knows this much, nor will anyone know this much—none of the devas, ṛṣis, none of the asuras, none of the rākṣasas, great gandharvas, yakṣas, kinnaras or great snakes [know this much].
