Chapter 29: The History of Siddhāśrama
Text 1.29.27

श्रुत्वा तद्वामनेनोक्तं स्मितं कृत्वासुरोत्तमः।
येनेष्टं पूर्त्यते ब्रह्मंस्तत्कुर्मेति ततोऽब्रवीत्॥

śrutvā tad vāmanenoktaṁ smitaṁ kṛtvāsurottamaḥ
yeneṣṭaṁ
pūrtyate brahmaṁs tat kurmeti tato ’bravīt

śrutvā = having heard; tat = those; vāmanena = by Vāmana; uktam = words spoken; smitam kṛtvā = smiled and; asura-uttamaḥ = the best of the asuras; yena iṣṭam pūrtyate = whatever will fulfill Your desire; brahman = O brāhmaṇa; tat kurma iti = we will do; tataḥ = then; abravīt = said.

Having heard those words spoken by Vāmana, the best of the asuras smiled and then said Him: O brāhmaṇa, we will do whatever will fulfill Your desire.
