स महात्मा कुलीनायां युक्तायां सुगुणोल्बणान्।
वैदर्भ्यां जनयामास सदृशांश्चतुरः सुतान्।
कुशाम्बं कुशनाभं च आधूर्तरजसम्वसुम्॥
sa mahātmā kulīnāyāṁ yuktāyāṁ suguṇolbaṇān
vaidarbhyāṁ janayām āsa sadṛśāṁś caturaḥ sutān
kuśāmbaṁ kuśanābhaṁ ca ādhūrtarajasam vasum
saḥ mahā-ātmā = that great soul; kulīnāyām = who was born in a noble family; yuktāyām = and comparable to him; suguṇa-ulbaṇān = the four sons were abundantly filled with excellent auspicious qualities similar to each other; vaidarbhyām = from his wife Vaidarbhī; janayām āsa = begot; sadṛśān caturaḥ sutān = four similar sons; kuśāmbam = they were Kuśāmba; kuśanābham ca = Kuśanābha; ādhūrtarajasam = Ādhūrtarajā; vasum = and Vasu.
That great soul begot four similar sons from his wife Vaidarbhī who was born in a noble family and comparable to him. The four sons were abundantly filled with excellent auspicious qualities and similar to each other. They were Kuśāmba, Kuśanābha, Ādhūrtarajā and Vasu.
