Chapter 32: The History of Kuśanābha and His Daughters
Text 1.32.24

स च ता दयिता दीनाः कन्याः परमशोभनाः।
दृष्ट्वा भग्नास्तदा राजा सम्भ्रान्त इदमब्रवीत्॥

sa ca dayitā dīnāḥ kanyāḥ parama-śobhanāḥ
dṛṣṭvā
bhagnās tadā rājā sambhrānta idam abravīt

saḥ ca = the; tāḥ = those; dayitāḥ = beloved; dīnāḥ = wretched; kanyāḥ = daughters; parama-śobhanāḥ = and extremely splendid; dṛṣṭvā = merely by seeing; bhagnāḥ = and deformed in form; tadā rājā = king; sambhrāntaḥ = became overwhelmed in mind and; idam = as follows; abravīt = spoke.

Merely by seeing those beloved and extremely splendid daughters wretched and deformed in form, the king became overwhelmed in mind and spoke as follows.
