Chapter 36: Umā Curses the Demigods
Text 1.36.22
अथ शैलसुता राम त्रिदशानिदमब्रवीत्।
अप्रियस्य कृतस्याद्य फलं प्राप्स्यथ मे सुराः॥
atha śaila-sutā rāma tri-daśān idam abravīt
apriyasya kṛtasyādya phalaṁ prāpsyatha me surāḥ
atha = then; śaila-sutā = the daughter of Himavān; rāma = O Rāma; tri-daśān = that demigods; idam abravīt = told; apriyasya kṛtasya = since you have done an act displeasing to me; adya = today; phalam = the consequences for that act; prāpsyatha = you will face; me = from me; surāḥ = O demigods.
O Rāma, the daughter of Himavān then told the demigods: O demigods, since you have done an act displeasing [to me], you will face the consequences for that act today.
