Chapter 38: The History of Sagara
Text 1.38.24
स कृत्वा निश्चयं राम सोपाध्यायगणस्तदा।
यज्नकर्मणि वेदज्ञो यष्टुं समुपचक्रमे॥
sa kṛtvā niścayaṁ rāma sopādhyāya-gaṇas tadā
yajna-karmaṇi veda-jño yaṣṭuṁ samupacakrame
saḥ kṛtvā niścayaṁ = having conclusively decided; rāma = O Rāma; sa-upādhyāya-gaṇaḥ tadā = in the association of his priests; yajna-karmaṇi = that he would conduct a sacrificial performance; vedajñaḥ = as a knower of the veda; yaṣṭum = to conduct a sacrifice; samupacakrame = he prepared.
O Rāma, having conclusively decided that he would conduct a sacrificial performance, as a knower of the Veda in the association of his priests, he prepared to conduct a sacrifice.
