Chapter 41: Aṁśumān Searches for His Uncles and the Horse
Text 1.41.15
स तेषां राजपुत्राणां कर्तुकामो जलक्रियाम्।
सलिलार्थी महातेजा न चापश्यज्जलाशयम्॥
sa teṣāṁ rāja-putrāṇāṁ kartu-kāmo jala-kriyām
salilārthī mahā-tejā na cāpaśyaj jalāśayam
saḥ = Aṁśumān; teṣām = for those; rāja-putrāṇām = princes; kartu-kāmaḥ = desiring to perform; jala-kriyām = the final rites; salila-arthī = desired water; mahā-tejāḥ = of great prowess; na ca = but not; apaśyat = did see; jala-āśayam = any water body there.
Desiring to perform the final rites for those princes, Aṁśumān of great prowess desired water but did not see any water body there.
