Chapter 41: Aṁśumān Searches for His Uncles and the Horse

गङ्गा हिमवतो ज्येष्ठा दुहिता पुरुषर्षभ।
तस्यां कुरु महाबाहो पितॄणां तु जलक्रियाम्॥
gaṅgā himavato jyeṣṭhā duhitā puruṣa-rṣabha
tasyāṁ kuru mahā-bāho pitṝṇāṁ tu jala-kriyām
gaṅgā = Gaṅgā; himavataḥ = is Himavān’s; jyeṣṭhā = eldest; duhitā = daughter; puruṣa-rṣabha = O best of men; tasyām = in Gaṅgā; kuru = perform; mahā-bāho = O great armed one; pitṝṇām tu = for your younger fathers; jala-kriyām = the final rites.
O best of men, Gaṅgā is Himavān’s eldest daughter. O great-armed one, perform the final rites for your younger fathers in Gaṅgā.
