Chapter 41: Aṁśumān Searches for His Uncles and the Horse
Text 1.41.27
अकृत्वा निश्चयं राजा कालेन महता महान्।
त्रिंशद्वर्षसहस्राणि राज्यं कृत्वा दिवं गतः॥
akṛtvā niścayaṁ rājā kālena mahatā mahān
triṁśad varṣa-sahasrāṇi rājyaṁ kṛtvā divaṁ gataḥ
akṛtvā niścayam = without having discovered the means [to bring Gaṅgā to the earth]; ājā = king; kālena = time; mahatā = after a long; mahān = the great; triṁśat varṣa-sahasrāṇi = for 30,000 years; rājyam kṛtvā = ruled his kingdom and; divam = to the heavens; gataḥ = and ascended.
Without having discovered the means [to bring Gaṅgā to the earth,] the great king ruled his kingdom for 30,000 years and ascended to the heavens after a long time.
