Text 1.45.1

विश्वामित्रवचः श्रुत्वा राघवः सहलक्ष्मणः।
विस्मयं परमं गत्वा विश्वामित्रमथाब्रवीत्॥

viśvāmitra-vacaḥ śrutvā rāghavaḥ saha-lakṣmaṇaḥ
vismayaṁ
paramaṁ gatvā viśvāmitram athābravīt

viśvāmitra-vacaḥ = the words of Viśvāmitra; śrutvā = upon hearing; rāghavaḥ = Rāghava; saha-lakṣmaṇaḥ = and Lakṣmaṇa; vismayam paramam gatvā = became greatly astonished; viśvāmitram = to him; atha abravīt = they then spoke as follows.

Rāghava and Lakṣmaṇa became greatly astonished upon hearing the words of Viśvāmitra. They then spoke to him as follows.

The preceding ten chapters concerned the appearance of Gaṅgā and incidental topics. Factually, it showed that all worshipable deities other than the Supreme Personality of Godhead are inferior to Him, for Gaṅgā [who emanated from Him] is pure. In this and two subsequent chapters, it is established that the great Indra is inferior to the Supreme Lord.
