kṣaṇa-bhūteva
nau rātriḥ saṁvṛtteyaṁ mahā-tapaḥ
imāṁ
cintayatoḥ sarvāṁ nikhilena kathāṁ tava

gatā = passed; bhagavatī = the sacred; rātriḥ = night; śrotavyam = worth hearing; paramam = that which is definitely; śrutam = while we heard; kṣaṇa-bhūtā iva = like a mere moment; nau rātriḥ saṁvṛttaḥ iyam = our night had passed; mahā-tapaḥ = O sage of great austerities; imām = this; cintayatoḥ = while we were absorbed in thinking; sarvām nikhilena = completely; kathām = of narration; tava = of yours.

The sacred night passed while we heard that which is definitely worth hearing. O sage of great austerities, our night had passed like a mere moment while we were completely absorbed in thinking of this narration of yours.
