Chapter 47: King Sumati Approaches Viśvāmitra
Text 1.47.9
एवं तौ निश्चयं कृत्वा मातापुत्रौ तपोवने।
जग्मतुस्त्रिदिवं राम कृतार्थाविति नः श्रुतम्॥
evaṁ tau niścayaṁ kṛtvā mātā-putrau tapo-vane
jagmatus tridivaṁ rāma kṛtārthāv iti naḥ śrutam
evam tau niścayam kṛtvā mātā-putrau = after the mother and son came to these conclusions; tapaḥ-vane = in the forest of austerity; jagmatuḥ = they left for; tridivam = the heavenly worlds; rāma = O Rāma; kṛta-arthau = [since] their purposes had been fulfilled; iti naḥ śrutam = we have heard [from authorities] that.
O Rāma, we have heard [from authorities] that after the mother and son came to these conclusions in the forest of austerity, they left for the heavenly worlds [since] their purposes had been fulfilled.
