Chapter 48: Gautama Curses Ahalyā
Text 1.48.15
हन्त ते कथयिष्यामि शृणु तत्त्वेन राघव।
यस्यैतदाश्रमपदं शप्तं कोपान्महात्मना॥
hanta te kathayiṣyāmi śṛṇu tattvena rāghava
yasyaitad āśrama-padaṁ śaptaṁ kopān mahātmanā
hanta = yes; te kathayiṣyāmi = I will describe; śṛṇu tattvena = listen indeed; rāghava = O Raghava; yasya = whose; etat = this is; āśrama-padam = āśrama; śaptam = and who cursed it; kopāt = out of anger; mahā-ātmanā = the great soul.
O Raghava, yes, I will describe the great soul whose āśrama this is and who cursed it out of anger. Listen indeed.
Viśvāmitra was happy that it was now time for Lord Rāma to bestow His mercy upon Ahalyā.
