गौतमं स ददर्शाथ प्रविशन्तं महामुनिम्।
देवदानवदुर्धर्षं तपोबलसमन्वितम्॥
तीर्थोदकपरिक्लिन्नं दीप्यमानमिवानलम्।
गृहीतसमिधं तत्र सकुशं मुनिपुङ्गवम्॥
gautamaṁ sa dadarśātha praviśantaṁ mahā-munim
deva-dānava-durdharṣaṁ tapo-bala-samanvitam
tīrthodaka-pariklinnaṁ dīpyamānam ivānalam
gṛhīta-samidhaṁ tatra sakuśaṁ muni-puṅgavam
gautamam saḥ dadarśa atha = he then saw Gautama; praviśantam = entering [his cottage]; mahā-munim = the great sage; deva-dānava-durdharṣam = Gautama was invincible to the devas and dānavas; tapaḥ-bala-samanvitam = equipped with the strength of austerities; tirtha-udaka-pariklinnam = was wet with sacred water; dīpyamānam iva analam = shining like fire; gṛhīta-samidham = holding firewood; tatra = in the āśrama; sa-kuśam = and kuśa grass; muni-puṅgavam = the best of sages.
He then saw the great sage Gautama entering [his cottage]. Equipped with the strength of austerities, Gautama was invincible to the devas and dānavas. The best of sages was wet with sacred water, shining like fire, holding firewood and kuśa grass in the āśrama.
While exiting from the leaf hut, Indra noticed Gautama who was wet with sacred water, that is, who had arrived after taking his sacred bath.
