Chapter 50: King Janaka Meets Viśvāmitra
Text 1.50.16
इत्युक्त्वा मुनिशार्दूलं प्रहृष्टवदनस्तदा।
पुनस्तं परिपप्रच्छ प्राञ्जलिः प्रणतो नृपः॥
ity uktvā muni-śārdūlaṁ prahṛṣṭa-vadanas tadā
punas taṁ paripapraccha prāñjaliḥ praṇato nṛpaḥ
iti uktvā = having told this to; muni-śārdūlam = the tiger among sages; prahṛṣṭa-vadanaḥ tadā = with a delighted face; punaḥ tam paripapraccha = again humbly inquired from him as follows; prāñjaliḥ = with his palms joined in supplication; praṇataḥ = bowed down and; nṛpaḥ = the king.
Having told this to the tiger among sages, the king with a delighted face bowed down and again humbly inquired from him, with his palms joined in supplication, as follows.
The delight in the king’s face indicates that he was especially curious about Rāma and Lakṣmaṇa.
