tasya tat = those; vacanam = words; śrutvā = hearing; janakasya = Janaka; mahā-ātmanaḥ = of the greatly intelligent; nyavedayan = Viśvāmitra described; mahā-ātmānau = the two great souls; putrau daśarathasya tau = the two sons of Daśaratha; siddhāśrama-nivāsam ca = as well as Their residence in Siddhāśrama; rākṣasāṇām vadham tathā = slaughter of the rākṣasas; tat ca āgamanam avyagram = Their unobstructed journey; viśālāyāḥ ca darśanam = Their sight of Viśālā; ahalyā-darśanam ca eva = Their meeting Ahalyā; gautamena samāgamam = Gautama’s reunion with Ahalyā; mahā-dhanuṣi jijñāsā = Their curiosity to see the great bow of Lord Śiva; kartum āgamanam tathā = and Their arrival [at Mithilā] to see it.

Hearing those words of the greatly intelligent Janaka, Viśvāmitra described the two great souls—the two sons of Daśaratha—as well as Their residence in Siddhāśrama, slaughter of the rākṣasas, Their unobstructed journey, Their sight of Viśālā, Their meeting Ahalyā, Gautama’s reunion with Ahalyā, Their curiosity to see the great bow of Lord Śiva and Their arrival [at Mithilā] to see it.

Āgamanam avyagram indicates that the journey of Rāma, Lakṣamaṇa and Viśvāmitra was secure even in a path surrounded by thousands of rākṣasas. Rāma was curious to see Lord Śiva’s bow; He wanted to examine its strengths and weaknesses.
