Chapter 60: Triśaṅku Blessed
Text 1.60.33
विश्वामित्रस्तु धर्मात्मा सर्वदेवैरभिष्टुतः।
ऋषिभिश्च महातेजा बाढमित्याह देवताः॥
viśvāmitras tu dharmātmā sarva-devair abhiṣṭutaḥ
ṛṣibhiś ca mahā-tejā bāḍham ity āha devatāḥ
viśvāmitraḥ tu = Viśvāmitra; dharma-ātmā = and a mind devoted to dharma; sarva-devaiḥ = by all the devas; abhiṣṭutaḥ = thus commended; ṛṣibhiḥ ca = and ṛṣis; mahā-tejāḥ = of great prowess; bāḍham iti = “alright”; āha = told; devatāḥ = the celestials.
Thus commended by all the devas and ṛṣis, Viśvāmitra of great prowess and a mind devoted to dharma told the celestials, “Alright.”
“Alright” indicates that he agreed [to the arrangement of the demigods].
