अग्निकल्पो हि भगवान् शापं दास्यति रोषितः।
तस्मात्प्रवर्त्यतां यज्ञः सशरीरो यथा दिवम्॥
गच्छेदिक्ष्वाकुदायादो विश्वामित्रस्य तेजसा।
तथा प्रवर्त्यतां यज्ञः सर्वे समधितिष्ठत॥
agni-kalpo hi bhagavān śāpaṁ dāsyati roṣitaḥ
tasmāt pravartyatāṁ yajñaḥ saśarīro yathā divam
gacched ikṣvāku-dāyādo viśvāmitrasya tejasā
tathā pravartyatāṁ yajñaḥ sarve samadhitiṣṭhata
agni-kalpaḥ hi = is like fire; bhagavān = this powerful person; śāpam dāsyati roṣitaḥ = and may curse us if angered; tasmāt = therefore; pravartyatām yajñaḥ = let us engage in this sacrifice; sa-śarīraḥ = in his self-same body; yathā = in such a manner; divam = to Svarga; gacched = can go; ikṣvāku-dāyādaḥ = that Ikṣvāku’s descendant; viśvāmitrasya = of Viśvāmitra; tejasā = by the power; tathā = so; pravartyatām yajñaḥ sarve = let us all carry out this sacrifice; samadhitiṣṭhata = and manage it as its sacrificial priests.
This powerful person is like fire, and may curse us if angered. Therefore, let us engage in this sacrifice in such a manner that Ikṣvāku’s descendant can go to Svarga in his self-same body by the power of Viśvāmitra. So, let us all carry out this sacrifice and manage it as its sacrificial priests.
