तमुवाच महातेजाः प्रणम्याभिप्रसाद्य च।
ब्रह्मर्षिं तपसा दीप्तं राजर्षिरमितप्रभः।
पृष्ट्वा सर्वत्र कुशलमृचीकं तमिदं वचः॥
tam uvāca mahā-tejāḥ praṇamyābhiprasādya ca
brahma-rṣiṁ tapasā dīptaṁ rāja-rṣir amita-prabhaḥ
pṛṣṭvā sarvatra kuśalam ṛcīkaṁ tam idaṁ vacaḥ
tam = to him; uvāca = spoke; mahā-tejāḥ = the king of great prowess; praṇamya = offered his respectful obeisances unto the sage; abhiprasādya = sought his blessings; ca = and; brahma-rṣim = of Brahmarṣi; tapasā dīptam = who was shining with austerity; rāja-rṣiḥ = the saintly king; amita-prabhaḥ = of immeasurable effulgence; pṛṣṭvā = asked about; sarvatra = the all-around; kuśalam = welfare; ṛcīkam = Ṛcīka; tam idam vacaḥ = then spoke to him the following words.
The king of great prowess offering his respectful obeisances unto the sage sought his blessings. The saintly king of immeasurable effulgence asked about the all-around welfare of Brahmarṣi Ṛcīka who was shining with austerity [and then spoke] to him the following words.
