गवां शतसहस्रेण विक्रीणीषे सुतं यदि।
पशोरर्थे महाभाग कृतकृत्योऽस्मि भार्गव॥
gavāṁ śata-sahasreṇa vikrīṇīṣe sutaṁ yadi
paśor arthe mahā-bhāga kṛta-kṛtyo ‘smi bhārgava
gavām = cows; śata-sahasreṇa = in exchange for a hundred thousand; vikrīṇīṣe = you can sell; sutam = your son; yadi = if; paśoḥ arthe = as a representative of my sacrificial animal; mahā-bhāga = O greatly powerful; kṛta-kṛtyaḥ asmi = my endeavors will be successful; bhārgava = descendant of Bhṛgu.
O greatly powerful descendant of Bhṛgu, my endeavors will be successful if you can sell your son as a representative of my sacrificial animal in exchange for a hundred thousand cows.
