Chapter 65: Viśvāmitra Becomes a Brahmarṣi
Text 1.65.11
न दीयते यदि त्वस्य मनसा यदभीप्सितम्।
विनाशयति त्रैलोक्यं तपसा सचराचरम्॥
na dīyate yadi tv asya manasā yad abhīpsitam
vināśayati trailokyaṁ tapasā sacarācaram
na = not; dīyate = is granted; yadi tu = if; asya = to him; manasā = by his mind; yad abhīpsitam = that which is cherished; vināśayati = he might destroy; trailokyam = the three worlds; tapasā = with his austerity; sa-carācaram = and the moving and nonmoving creatures.
If that which is cherished by his mind is not granted to him, he might destroy the three worlds and the moving and nonmoving creatures with his austerity.
