Chapter 65: Viśvāmitra Becomes a Brahmarṣi
Text 1.65.22

ततः प्रसादितो देवैर्वसिष्ठो जपतां वरः।
सख्यं चकार ब्रह्मर्षिरेवमस्त्विति चाब्रवीत्॥

tataḥ prasādito devair vasiṣṭho japatāṃ varaḥ.

sakhyaṃ cakāra brahmarṣir evam astviti cābravīt

tataḥ = and then; prasāditaḥ = satisfied; devaiḥ = by the devas; vasiṣṭhaḥ = Vasiṣṭha; japatām varaḥ = the best of mantra reciters; sakhyam cakāra = made friends with Viśvāmitra; brahma-rṣiḥ evam astu iti = from now onwards, may you be [recognized as] a brahmarṣi; ca = and; abravīt = told him

And then, satisfied by the devas, Vasiṣṭha, the best of mantra reciters, made friends with Viśvāmitra and told him: “From now onwards, may you be [recognized as] a brahmarṣi.”
