Chapter 65: Viśvāmitra Becomes a Brahmarṣi
Text 1.65.27
शतानन्दवचः श्रुत्वा रामलक्ष्मणसन्निधौ।
जनकः प्राञ्जलिर्वाक्यमुवाच कुशिकात्मजम्॥
śatānanda-vacaḥ śrutvā rāma-lakṣmaṇa-sannidhau
janakaḥ prāñjalir vākyam uvāca kuśikātmajam
śatānanda-vacaḥ = Śatānanda’s narration; śrutvā = having heard; rāma-lakṣmaṇa-sannidhau = in the presence of Rāma and Lakṣmaṇa; janakaḥ = Janaka; prāñjaliḥ = with his palms joined in supplication; vākyam = the following words; uvāca = spoke; kuśika-ātmajam = to the son of Kuśika.
Having heard Śatānanda’s narration in the presence of Rāma and Lakṣmaṇa, Janaka, with his palms joined in supplication, spoke the following words to the son of Kuśika.
