Chapter 65: Viśvāmitra Becomes a Brahmarṣi
Text 1.65.29

पावितोऽहं त्वया ब्रह्मन्दर्शनेन महामुने।
विश्वामित्र महाभाग ब्रह्मर्षीणां वरोत्तम।
गुणा बहुविधाः प्राप्तास्तव सन्दर्शनान्मया॥

pāvito ‘haṁ tvayā brahman darśanena mahā-mune
viśvāmitra
mahā-bhāga brahma-rṣīṇāṁ varottama
guṇā
bahu-vidhāḥ prāptās tava sandarśanān mayā

pāvitaḥ = become purified; aham = I; tvayā = you; brahman = O brāhmaṇa; darśanena = by seeing; mahā-mune = O great sage; viśvāmitra = Viśvāmitra; mahā-bhāga = O greatly opulent; brahma-rṣīṇām = the brahmarṣis; vara-uttama = O most excellent; guṇāḥ = good qualities; bahu-vidhāḥ = several; prāptāḥ = attained; tava = you; sandarśanān = by meeting; mayā = I have.

O brāhmaṇa, O great sage, I have become purified by seeing you. O greatly opulent Viśvāmitra, O most excellent of the brahmarṣis, I have attained several good qualities by meeting you.
