राज्ञो भवनमासाद्य द्वारस्थानिदमब्रुवन्।
शीघ्रं निवेद्यतां राज्ञे दूतान्नो जनकस्य च।
इत्युक्ता द्वारपालास्ते राघवाय न्यवेदयन्॥
rājño bhavanam āsādya dvārasthān idam abruvan
śīghraṁ nivedyatāṁ rājñe dūtān no janakasya ca
ity uktā dvāra-pālās te rāghavāya nyavedayan
rājñaḥ = at the king’s; bhavanam = residence; āsādya = arriving; dvārasthān = the gatekeepers; idam abruvan = they told; śīghram = quickly; nivedyatām = inform; rājñe = the king; dūtān = messengers; naḥ = that we are; janakasya = of Janaka; ca iti uktāḥ = when were addressed thus; dvāra-pālāḥ te = the gatekeepers; rāghavāya = the descendant of Raghu; nyavedayan they informed [of the same].
Arriving at the king’s residence, they told the gatekeepers, “Quickly inform the king that we are messengers of Janaka.” When the gatekeepers were addressed thus, they informed the descendant of Raghu [of the same].
