Chapter 68: Daśaratha Delighted
Text 1.68.4
बद्धाञ्जलिपुटाः सर्वे दूता विगतसाध्वसाः।
राजानं प्रयता वाक्यमब्रुवन्मधुराक्षरम्॥
baddhāñjali-puṭāḥ sarve dūtā vigata-sādhvasāḥ
rājānaṁ prayatā vākyam abruvan madhurākṣaram
baddha-añjali-puṭāḥ = with their palms joined in supplication; sarve = all; dūtāḥ = messengers; vigata-sādhvasāḥ = fearlessly; rājānam = to the king; prayatāḥ = the dutiful; vākyam = spoke; abruvan madhura-akṣaram = the following sweet words.
With their palms joined in supplication, all the dutiful messengers fearlessly spoke the following sweet words to the king.
Because of Daśaratha’s kindness the messengers were fearless in submitting the message.
