Chapter 69: Daśaratha Reaches Mithilā
Text 1.69.14
तस्य तद्वचनं श्रुत्वा ऋषिमध्ये नराधिपः।
वाक्यं वाक्यविदां श्रेष्ठः प्रत्युवाच महीपतिम्॥
tasya tad vacanaṁ śrutvā ṛṣi-madhye narādhipaḥ
vākyaṁ vākyavidāṁ śreṣṭhaḥ pratyuvāca mahī-patim
tasya tat vacanam śrutvā = upon hearing his words; ṛṣi-madhye = amidst the sages; nara-ādhipaḥ = the king; vākyam = in the following words; vākyavidām śreṣṭhaḥ = the best of the knowers of speech; pratyuvāca = replied; mahī-patim = to King Janaka.
Upon hearing his words amidst the sages, the king, the best of the knowers of speech, replied to King Janaka in the following words.
