Chapter 72: Daśaratha’s Charity Before the Wedding
Text 1.72.14

एवमुक्त्वा वचः सौम्यं प्रत्युत्थाय कृताञ्जलिः।
उभौ मुनिवरौ राजा जनको वाक्यमब्रवीत्॥

evam uktvā vacaḥ saumyaṁ pratyutthāya kṛtāñjaliḥ
ubhau
muni-varau rājā janako vākyam abravīt

evam uktvā = having spoken; vacaḥ saumyam = these pleasant words; pratyutthāya = stood up; kṛtāñjaliḥ = joined his palms in supplication; ubhau muni-varau = to the excellent sages; rājā janakaḥ = King Janaka; vākyam abravīt = and spoke the following words.

Having spoken these pleasant words, King Janaka stood up, joined his palms in supplication and spoke the following words to the excellent sages.

King Janaka stood up to indicate his abundant respect for the sages.
