Chapter 73: The Grand Wedding of Sītā and Rāma
Text 1.73.34

पतिव्रता महाभागा छायेवानुगता सदा।
इत्युक्त्वा प्राक्षिपद्राजा मन्त्रपूतं जलं तदा॥

pati-vratā mahā-bhāgā chāyevānugatā sadā
ity
uktvā prākṣipad rājā mantra-pūtaṁ jalaṁ tadā

pati-vratā = will be devoted to her husband; mahā-bhāgā = Sītā of great fortune; chāya iva = like His shadow; anugatā sadā = always following Him; iti uktvā = saying this; prākṣipat = sprinkled on Rāma’s hand; rājā = the king; mantra-pūtam = sanctified by mantras; jalam tadā = water.

Sītā of great fortune will be devoted to her husband, always following Him like His shadow. Saying this, the king sprinkled water sanctified by mantras on Rāma’s hand.

And then, an auspicious omen [was noticed]. The author describes it in the next verse.
