Chapter 73: The Grand Wedding of Sītā and Rāma
Text 1.73.41
जनकस्य वचः श्रुत्वा पाणीन्पाणिभिरस्पृशन्।
चत्वारस्ते चतसृणां वसिष्ठस्य मते स्थिताः॥
janakasya vacaḥ śrutvā pāṇīn pāṇibhir aspṛśan
catvāras te catasṛṇāṁ vasiṣṭhasya mate sthitāḥ
janakasya = of Janaka; vacaḥ = the words; śrutvā = on hearing; pāṇīn = the hands; pāṇibhiḥ = with Their hands; aspṛśan = touched; catvāras te = the four [sons of Daśaratha]; catasṛṇām = of Their respective brides; vasiṣṭhasya = of Vasiṣṭha; mate = with the opinion; sthitāḥ = in accordance.
On hearing the words of Janaka, the four [sons of Daśaratha] touched the hands of Their respective brides with Their hands, in accordance with the opinion of Vasiṣṭha.
