Chapter 74: The Arrival of Paraśurāma

हस्त्यश्वत्थपादातं दिव्यरूपं स्वलङ्कृतम्।
ददौ कन्यापिता तासां दासीदासमनुत्तमम्॥
hasty-aśvattha-pādātaṁ divya-rūpaṁ svalaṅkṛtam
dadau kanyā-pitā tāsāṁ dāsī-dāsam anuttamam
hasti-aśvattha-pādātam = elephants, horses and infantry; divya-rūpam = all divine in form; svalaṅkṛtam = and beautifully decorated; dadau = gave; kanyā-pitā = the father of the girls Janaka; tāsām = for his girls; dāsī-dāsam anuttamam = as well as excellent maidservants and male servants.
The father of the girls, Janaka, gave elephants, horses and infantry, all divine in form and beautifully decorated, as well as excellent maidservants and male servants for his girls.
