करवीरसमे गन्धे विशाले विमले शुभे।
अतिसृष्टं सुरैरेकं त्र्यम्बकाय युयुत्सवे॥
त्रिपुरघ्नं नरश्रेष्ठ भग्नं काकुत्स्थ यत्त्वया।
इदं द्वितीयं दुर्धर्षं विष्णोर्दत्तं सुरोत्तमैः॥
karavīra-same gandhe viśāle vimale śubhe
atisṛṣṭaṁ surair ekaṁ tryambakāya yuyutsave
tripuraghnaṁ nara-śreṣṭha bhagnaṁ kākutstha yat tvayā
idaṁ dvitīyaṁ durdharṣaṁ viṣṇor dattaṁ surottamaiḥ
karavīra-same = like the plant karavīra; gandhe = they were fragrant; viśāle = large; vimale = pure; śubhe = and auspicious; atisṛṣṭam = was given; suraiḥ = by the demigods; ekam = one [of them]; tryambakāya = to Lord Tryambaka (Śiva); yuyutsave = when he desired to fight with the residents of Tripura; tripuraghnam = that which destroyed Tripura; nara-śreṣṭha = O king; bhagnam = was broken; kākutstha = O Kākutstha; yat tvayā = by You; idam dvitīyam = here is the second bow; durdharṣam = that is invincible; viṣṇoḥ = to Viṣṇu; dattam = it was given; sura-uttamaiḥ = by the best of the devas.
They were fragrant like the plant karavīra, large, pure and auspicious. One [of them] was given by the demigods to Lord Tryambaka (Śiva) when he desired to fight with the residents of Tripura. O Kākutstha, O king, that which destroyed Tripura was broken by You. Here is the second bow that is invincible. It was given to Viṣṇu by the best of the devas.
