Text 1.75.33

योजयस्व धनुःश्रेष्ठे शरं परपुरञ्जयम्।
यदि शक्नोषि काकुत्स्थ द्वन्द्वं दास्यामि ते ततः॥

yojayasva dhanuḥ-śreṣṭhe śaraṁ para-purañjayam
yadi
śaknoṣi kākutstha dvandvaṁ dāsyāmi te tataḥ

yojayasva = fix; dhanuḥ-śreṣṭhe = to this excellent bow; śaram = an arrow; para-purañjayam = that can destroy the cities of the opponents; yadi = if; śaknoṣi = You can [do so]; kākutstha = O descendant of Kakutstha; dvandvaṁ dāsyāmi te tataḥ = I will then fight with You.

Fix an arrow that can destroy the cities of the opponents to this excellent bow. O descendant of Kakutstha, if You can [do so], I will then fight with You.

Paraśurāma wanted to tell Śrī Rāmacandra, “And even if You are capable of stringing it [and shooting an arrow with it], I will not let You go. I will give You a fight to examine Your strength.”
