Chapter 76: Lord Rāma Strings Lord Viṣṇu’s bow
Text 1.76.17
तदिमां त्वं गतिं वीर हन्तुं नार्हसि राघव।
मनोजवं गमिष्यामि महेन्द्रं पर्वतोत्तमम्॥
tad imāṁ tvaṁ gatiṁ vīra hantuṁ nārhasi rāghava
mano-javaṁ gamiṣyāmi mahendraṁ parvatottamam
tat = therefore; imām tvam gatim vīra hantum na arhasi rāghava = O hero, O descendant of Raghu, you should not destroy my power of motion; manaḥ-javam = at the speed of the mind; gamiṣyāmi = I will go; mahendram = to Mahendra; parvata-uttamam = the best of the mountains.
O hero, O descendant of Raghu, therefore, you should not destroy my power of motion. At the speed of the mind, I will go to Mahendra, the best of the mountains.
