Chapter 76: Lord Rāma Strings Lord Viṣṇu’s bow
Text 1.76.21
न चेयं मम काकुत्स्थ व्रीडा भवितुमर्हति।
त्वया त्रैलोक्यनाथेन यदहं विमुखीकृतः॥
na ceyaṁ mama kākutstha vrīḍā bhavitum arhati
tvayā trailokya-nāthena yad ahaṁ vimukhīkṛtaḥ
na ca iyam mama kākutstha vrīḍā bhavitum arhati = O descendant of Kakutstha, I should not feel ashamed of being defeated; tvayā = by You; trailokya-nāthena = the Lord of the three worlds; yat = because; aham = I; vimukhīkṛtaḥ = have been defeated.
O descendant of Kakutstha, I should not feel ashamed of being defeated because I have been defeated by You, the Lord of the three worlds.
