Chapter 9: Conversation Between Sumantra and Daśaratha
Text 1.9.19
अथ हृष्टो दशरथः सुमन्त्रं प्रत्यभाषत।
यथ र्श्यशृङ्गस्त्वानीतो विस्तरेण त्वयोच्यताम्॥
atha hṛṣṭo daśarathaḥ sumantraṁ pratyabhāṣata
yatha rśyaśṛṅgas tv ānīto vistareṇa tvayocyatām
atha = then; hṛṣṭaḥ = with pleasure; daśarathaḥ = Daśaratha; sumantram = to Sumantra; pratyabhāṣata = replied; yatha = how; rśyaśṛṅgaḥ tu = Ṛśyaśṛṅga; ānītaḥ = was brought; vistareṇa = in detail; tvaya ucyatām = tell me.
Then, Daśaratha replied to Sumantra with pleasure, “Tell me in detail how Ṛśyaśṛṅga was brought.”1
