Canto 2 -
Ayodhyā-kāṇḍa
Chapter 1: Daśaratha Desires to Appoint Rāma as the Crown Prince
Text 2.1.8

कौसल्या शुशुभे तेन पुत्रेणामिततेजसा।
यथा वरेण देवानामदितिर्वज्रपाणिना॥

kausalyā śuśubhe tena putreṇāmita-tejasā
yathā vareṇa devānām aditir vajra-pāṇinā

kausalyā = Kausalyā; śuśubhe = shone [in happiness]; tena = Rāma; putreṇa = with her son; amita-tejasā = of unlimited strength; yathā = like; vareṇa = the best; devānām = of the devas; aditiḥ = Aditi; vajra-pāṇinā = with the thunderbolt-wielder.

Kausalyā shone [in happiness] with her son Rāma of unlimited strength like Aditi with the thunderbolt-wielder, the best of the devas.

Rāma not only delighted His father; He also delighted His mother. That is stated in this verse. The best of the devas is Indra.
